Employment Listings: HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC

2 years of experience 

Must have experience with off-road earth moving equipment. Experience working with John Deere, Caterpillar and Komatsu equipment highly preferred.

- Must have own tools.

- Must have transportation.

Key Responsibilities:
• Preventative Maintenance:
• Performing routine inspections of equipment according to established maintenance schedules.
• Checking fluid levels, lubricating parts, replacing filters, and adjusting belts as needed.
• Completing preventative maintenance checklists and documenting findings.
• Identifying potential wear and tear issues before they become major problems.
• Troubleshooting and Minor Repairs:
• Diagnosing minor malfunctions and performing basic repairs on equipment.
• Replacing worn or damaged parts as needed.
• Identifying the root cause of equipment failures and taking corrective action.
• Recordkeeping and Reporting:
• Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, including dates, findings, and repairs performed.
• Reporting any critical issues or potential safety hazards to supervisors.
• Generating reports on equipment performance and maintenance trends.
• Compliance and Safety:
• Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance tasks.
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations related to equipment maintenance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Technical Skills:
• Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems depending on the industry.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.

• Problem-Solving Skills:
• Strong analytical abilities to diagnose equipment issues and identify solutions.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex problems and implement effective repairs.

• Communication Skills:
• Clear and concise communication with colleagues, supervisors, and other departments regarding maintenance needs and issues.

• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift moderate weights, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
• Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.

Experience working with John Deere, Caterpillar and Komatsu equipment highly preferred.

Must have own tools.

A Class B CDL as a minimum is required with Hazmat endorsement.
